The Dodgers plated three runs in the third inning and led the rest of the way in a 6-5 win over the Nats in Friday’s series opener. Clayton Kershaw picked up the win for the Dodgers, scattering five hits and two runs with four strikeouts in five innings. Los Angeles rallied the old-fashioned way in that key third inning with runs scoring on a fielder’s choice, infield single and single. Third baseman Miguel Rojas delivered two insurance runs in the sixth on his third homer of the season.

The Dodgers are hefty favorites (-265) in the Saturday betting line to beat the Nationals behind starting pitcher Dustin May (4-4, 4.46 ERA). Right-hander Jake Irvin (5-3, 4.23 ERA) is slated to get the ball for the Nationals.
